In my post about Cadillac Mountain in Acadia NP, I ask “where are the goblins?” It turns out they’re in Utah. The Utah goblins are natural formations of clay-like sandstone, each 10 or more feet high, and the valley is a leafless place with nothing else. The park doesn’t really have trails. You just wander around until you’re tired or contract sunstroke.

There are a variety of shapes here, but there’s a definite mushroom tendency.

Anyway, a definitely different place. You might say “out of this world”, and the makers of the movie Galaxy Quest thought so too.
